Happy National School Breakfast Week, everyone!

Back in 1975, the School Breakfast Program became a permanent addition to the child nutrition programs. This week, schools throughout the country will celebrate the fact their students have access to healthful and tasty foods each school day during breakfast!

To kick off our week of tips, we wanted to share information directly from the School Nutrition Association (SNA) on how school breakfasts can enrich the lives of participating kiddos.

Children that eat meals at schools have shown to:

  1.  Excel in reading math compared to those who don’t eat breakfast at school
  2. Score higher on standardized testing
  3. Have better concentration and memory
  4. Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight
